Amendment to protect data in the Agriculture Bill

We’re working with legislators to propose an amendment to the draft Agriculture Bill, to to give MPs, ministers, farmers and the public more actionable intelligence on farm payments, not less.

A new Agriculture Bill is passing through Parliament, which significantly reforms the UK’s agricultural policies and the £3.5 billion paid annually to UK farmers.

However, the data measures in the draft legislation are so weak that even MPs and ministers may not be able to obtain critical data on billions of pounds of public money.

Anyone who cares about the environment in the UK should be concerned about this. We’re working with partners to suggest an amendment to ensure that this data stays in the public domain.
