The Centre for Public Data is looking for a freelance contractor to do some very short-notice advocacy support for a niche campaign that we’re trying to spin up as quickly as possible.
The campaign is around preventing an impending failure around the transparency of government subsidies and spending.
What we’re looking for
We need someone who can help with:
Identifying government stakeholders, media and civil society partners to approach
Drafting and sending appropriate approaches
Advising on the broader campaign strategy.
Experience in advocacy specifically in the fields of transparency, public spending or economics would be helpful, but isn’t essential.
About us
We’re a new non-partisan organisation working for stronger public data to support UK civil society - find out more about us.
Timing and rates
We’re looking for 3-4 days of work in March 2021, followed by 3-4 days in April. We’re paying market rates, and ideally looking for someone who can start in the week of Monday 15th.
How to apply
Please send a short note on why you’re suitable/interested to anna@centreforpublicdata.org by close of play on Monday 8th. We’ll aim to do Zoom calls with shortlisted candidates on Thursday 11th or Friday 12th. Feel free to get in touch informally if you’d like to have a chat about the role.
Not for you? We may be hiring again soon, and we’re always keen to hear from people with skills in public-interest technology research and advocacy. Drop us a line at contact@centreforpublicdata.org or sign up for news.
